CYPPC Multi-agency Procedures

Dundee's multi-agency child protection procedures is for all practitioners in all agencies who do or may be involved with children about whom there concerns that they may be at risk of significant harm.

The Guidance forms a package with the procedures/guidance produced by single agencies. This guidance focuses on the inter-agency aspects of practice and should always be read in conjunction with the procedures/guidance that apply within each agency or profession.

Multi Agency Screening Hub (MASH) Procedures

The operational procedures for the multi-agency screening hub (MASH) have been reviewed and became operational on 3rd November 2011. All staff should take time to read the new procedures and consider what they mean for you.  There is also an accompanying briefing document highlighting the key information and changes that have been incorporated into the new procedures that staff who refer cases to the MASH should be aware of.

Getting Our Priorities Right for Children Affected by Substance Misuse in Dundee

Getting our Priorities Right (or GOPR), was a national policy initiative relating to children and young people affected by parental substance misuse. National guidance was produced, part of which was that each local area should produce a local protocol/procedure.

This Dundee document applies to and is for use by, all agencies who do or may have contact with children and young people. It emphaises the importance of partnership working, particularly across children's and adult services and re-emphasises Dundee's messages about the value of information sharing.

Sharing Information re Children who are Missing

A number of agencies in Dundee have systems in place whereby they alert the same agencies in Scotland or the UK when a child and/or family about whom there are concerns goes missing; e.g. NHS Tayside staff advsing other NHS colleagues. These agencies also have systems in place to receive 'Missing Person' notices from colleagues elsewhere in the country.

This protocol addresses the gap that existed regarding agencies in Dundee informing each other that they have noted a child and/or family about whom there is concern is missing, or that they have received a notice from colleagues elsewhere in the country.
