Your Voice Matters:
An invitation to take part in our violence against women and girls research.
Why we need your help?
We are launching a new confidential violence against women (VAWG) research project.
Violence against women and girls (VAWG) is a term used to describe types of violence and abuse which are disproportionately perpetrated by men against women and girls such as, sexual violence, domestic abuse, coercive control, stalking and harassment, commercial sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation (FGM), forced marriage, so-called ‘honour-based’ abuse, exploitation and abuse of women and girls online.
We want to better understand women’s experiences, to improve our support systems and shape our future plans for keeping women and girls safe in their homes and in our city.
What you can do to help us:
We are keen to know:
- What women’s experiences of VAWG are in Dundee?
- What support and services women and girls need?
- What more do Dundee’s VAWG services need to do to support women and girls?
- How effective are our city’s responses to perpetrators and to preventing VAWG?
How you can get involved:
We are keen to hear your views on:
- How well we are meeting the needs of all women experiencing any form of VAWG in Dundee?
- How effective our responses are to the men responsible for perpetrating all forms of VAWG?
We would like to speak to you if:
- You are a woman aged 18+ with experience of any form of VAWG now or in the past.
- You work directly or indirectly with women, children or young people who have experience of any form of VAWG now or in the past.
- You work directly or indirectly with perpetrators of VAWG.
- You manage staff or services which work directly or indirectly with those affected by, or responsible for VAWG.
If you can answer YES to at least one of the above, we would like to invite you to take part in a confidential interview.
What to expect:
- A confidential, one to one interview.
- Flexible participation options (in-person, telephone or online) to suit you.
- Emotional support resources available throughout the process.
Your privacy, wellbeing and safety are our priority. All information will remain strictly confidential and you will not be identified.
