hand ....welcome

Welcome to the website of the Dundee Children and Young Persons Protection Committee (the CYPPC).

We have a very clear vision for child protection services in Dundee.  This is:

Dundee's future lies with its children and young people.  They deserve the best this city can give them.  We will provide the protection they need, when they need it, to keep them safe from harm.

If you are a child or young person, click on this link

This takes you to the Protecting Us pages of the Young Scot/Dundee website. Al the CYPPC’s information for children and young people is here.

If you are a parent or adult in Dundee, then please click here

This section talks about child abuse and neglect is and what you can do if you are concerned about a child or young person.

And if your work, either paid or voluntary, might bring you into contact with vulnerable children, young people and families, then please click here

You will find what you need to know about child protection guidance and procedures, find out what staff development opportunities are available via the CYPPC and how to book your place on our programmes.

What to do if you have concerns

If you see behaviour that is of concern, or if a child or young person tells you something, you need to take them seriously, do something about it, and speak to someone.

This could be a teacher, a doctor, a health visitor (available through your local surgery or health centre), a social worker, a youth worker, a police officer or nursery staff.

Telephone numbers are (01382) unless otherwise stated.
